Withered 1.2 Update! Future Plans!


RELEASE MODE IS HERE!

Withered: The Lost Dungeon's 1.2 update comes with quite a few bug fixes, and most importantly, a working RELEASE MODE which should heavily optimize the game. Also makes me look like less of an amateur developer. GOODBYE DEBUG!

So, what's next for Withered? With 1.2, it's pretty much done. However, I can't say goodbye to the project just yet so you can look forward to one more, major update before I move on.

WITHERED: TRIALS OF THE BARON

Soon, we'll have some Bonus Levels to round out Withered: The Lost Dungeon! Expect a couple of shorter, more challenging dungeons with some unique traps I couldn't fit in the main game. Shouldn't take too long to send this out, probably by the end of October. Anyway, 

FIXES AND CHANGES INCLUDE:

  • RELEASE MODE! The game will run faster, and hopefully be a tad less buggy. The annoying (DEBUG) message is gone.
  • LEVEL TIMER! Please speedrun my game. You have a timer now. Email me. Message me on twitter. Send your end game score to your friends. Speaking of:
  • SCORE CARDS WORK NOW! Oops. I didn't anticipate all of you getting the scores as high as you did, so, everyone got an F. Fixed that now, you'll get S+ rankings now if you keep getting all the secrets and the skeletons. Makes for a better screencap.
  • REDUCED MOTION OPTION! Did anyone get sick because of all the camera shake? There's an option for that now.
  • SHIELD GUYS NO LONGER TELEPORT! I hope. If they still do it, it's a feature, not a bug.
  • Knives go through walls less often.
  • More notes. More lore. 
  • Some other minor engine stuff

(P.S. Have you tried changing the palette? You can switch up the colors at any time. Atmosphere is everything y'know?)
